AT THE VILLAGE

Apostle Philip Church

Visit the Church of the village dedicated to Apostle Philip, the patron saint of the community. It was built in the 13th century and repaired several times since then. Because of its unique kind and dimensions, it has been declared an ancient monument by the Department of Antiquities.

In the courtyard you can find the icon store room of St. Mariamnis (Apostle Philip sister).

Panayia Chryseleousa Chapel

In the village there is also a second small medieval church dedicated to Panayia Chryseleousa of the Catholics. In ancient times it was a Latin Monastery, which they now try to reconstruct and reuse.

Folk Art Museum

The Folk Art Museum was build in the 18trh century and listed as an ancient monument. It contains a collection of Cypriot folk art and craft of the villager's daily life such as house tools, furniture and utensils related mostly to viticulture. The Museum is actually a traditional house displaying its entire household equipment.

The Six Fountains Nature Trail

Take your time and follow the nature trail of 2km through a pathway that links six old stone built water fountains. Each one with its own unique story and design. Enjoy the extensive green scenery of poplars, willows, plane and walnut trees, the wooden bridges and the stone paved road. It is a unique biotope both as regards the nature and fauna and flora.

Village Square

In the village square you will find all amenities, traditional coffee shops (called by Cypriots "kafenia"), supermarket, bank, bakery and two tavernas.

Heroes Monument

The monument was erected in honour of the volunteers from Arsos community at the national fights.

Wine Route 4

Take a car and travel through the scenic route of Krasochoria (wine villages). The route is outstanding with 20 charming villages, 11+ wineries and 23 different varietals. The best way to experience Cyprus hospitality and taste the remarkable wine.

Beach

Avdimou beach for swimming: Avdimou beach, one of the best in Cyprus, is 25km away, located at Avdimou village. A wide and sandy beach suitable for all ages, as the water level is relatively shallow. You can find all amenities like taverns, bars, showers, sunbeds and umbrellas.

Paralami beach for sports: Paramali beach is 35km away and it is a long, wide beach with a mix of sand and pebbles. The waters are moderate depth, but the strong winds in the area make it ideal for kite surfers, with the largest kitesurfing school set up there. The beach is quite deserted with no facilities. If you are looking for peace or to try an extreme sport then this is the beach for you.

Zivania Wine Museum: Located at Vasa Koilaniou, 7km away, it presents the history of Zivania through an interesting and educational trip.

Trozena 'Paradision" Waterfalls: Located 6km from Arsos close to the deserted village of Trozena, a hidden and rare waterfall can be found. From a height of around 100 meters, the water comes through a limestone rock cliff creating a unique scenery.

Near it you can also find the Trozena Bridge, an impressive metallic bridge, built during the British colonization, which is among the few that still exists on the island in this form.

Tzelefos bridge: Tzelefos bridge is a Venetian bridge at an altitude of about 440 meters within the deep forest of Paphos, 9km away from Arsos. The Tzelefos bridge (Gefiri tou Tzelefou in Greek) build over the river of Diarizos is the largest and biggest medieval stone bridge ever build in Cyprus.
